The special quality of artist Rong Chen is his unique passion for the traditions of Chinese culture. For over 60 years, using the Chinese art of "the strength of the brush", he diligently searches to create his own artistic milieu.

 

He has served as a board-of-directors member of the Oriental Artists and Calligraphers Association, and as a researcher/associate of the Chinese Calligraphers Society.

 

In 2007 he was invited by Kenneth Wong, a consultant to President George Bush, to come to the US for art exhibits and cross-cultural activities. During the trip, he submerged himself in the natural surroundings of many local US scenic resorts and parks. He experienced first-hand the geographic beauty of many natural landmarks and locales. With a widened horizon to the world, he has determined to use his unique knowledge of Chinese artistic culture as a bridge for communication and bonding of the two people of China and the US.

 

For the goal of making Chinese art and calligraphy as a common language for the art world, he is inspired to renovate Chinese artistic aesthetics to incorporate into the western art and sensitivity. This makes his artistic ability more mature so he can create artworks that are wholistic, organic, dextrous, and enlightening. Therefore, when we the viewers stand in front of his landscape paintings to gaze at the contents, we can practically feel its artistic and poetic energy, as if we could hear the soothing sound of running streams, be touched by the sacred souls (of the running springs) and feel the breeze and the soft drizzle.

 

If you understand Chinese language, you will understand the "divine words" coming from the paintings. Artist Rong Chen uses his unique classical calligraphy of ancient poetic phrases to express the inner feelings of the artists and poets. In his artwork, he successfully embodies "the three treasures of Chinese fine art": poetry, painting and calligraphy, and seal carving. These three treasures melt collectively to attain what ancient masters called "the three-summit attainment and perfection", the highest level of artistic expression.

書畫家陳榮簡介

 

這位藝術家的不同凡響之處，在於情有獨鍾立足於中國傳統的古國文化，六十餘年來運用中國書法力度線條藝術之美默默地尋求創造自己的繪畫藝術境界。

 

他曾是東方書畫家協會常務理事，中國書畫家協會理事研究員。

 

2007年應美國布希總統顧問黃華享邀請來美交流。在風光明媚中參悟自然，體會物情，漫遊名山大川。放眼世界，更謀開拓，立志把中國書畫作為溝通中美兩國人民友好的橋樑。

 

時至今日，他為了促成中國書畫成為世界語言，他圖變求新，在中國繪畫境界中受到心靈的引領，注入西方藝術元素，使筆墨既告成熟，物我尤能交溶，心手無礙，情景冥合。當我們駐足在他的畫前，凝視他的山水景物，我們能夠深深地感到其詩情畫意。我們彷彿聽到洗瀉的泉響，受到聖靈的湧泉而震撼。當我們凝視他的花鳥畫，彷彿聽到輕柔飄灑的雨聲。

 

如果你懂中文，你會通過畫中所選寫的神的話語或古代名詩，或是書畫家陳榮自己撰寫的詩句，並用他獨特典雅之手書寫於畫面來體現藝術家的情懷。在一幅作品中，它所完成的三件藝術（詩書，畫，篆刻）如此完美交織在一起，互為呼應，熔為一體，正是傳統所謂＂三絕＂，從而達到繪畫最高境界。
